Your donation will help to support directly a new creation and to nurture the growth and artistic development of The Chimera Project. Our donors enjoy opportunities to attend rehearsals and unique showings as well as meeting the artists of the company at special events.

Track Record of Excellence

Now in our 11th year, The Chimera Project reaches out to Northern Ontario, new schools across Canada and international audiences as we continue to push the boundaries of contemporary dance.

Highlights from last season include:

Performances

  • Dancing on the Edge Festival in Vancouver
  • Cross country touring including Toronto, Guelph, Brampton, North Bay, Parry Sound and British Columbia
  • Open Studio Showings and Open Rehearsals throughout the year
  • Second annual FRESH BLOOD festival produced in association with Harbourfront Centre showcasing 16 new-generation choreographers

Education

  • Community Dance Program - now in its second year, the program gives students in a priority neighbourhood the chance to participate in weekly Hip-Hop and Ballet classes and to perform for the community
  • Performances for high school students at the Pulse Ontario Youth Dance Conference at York University and at the FRESH BLOOD student matinee at the Enwave Theatre
  • Workshops and classes throughout Ontario, Toronto District School Board and the Catholic District School Board

Film

  • Creation of the short film I'm Right Behind You directed by Jeffery Nesker and generously funded by Bravo!FACT

Ticket sales account for a small part of the true cost of what it takes to sustain a contemporary dance company. As a not-for-profit organization, The Chimera Project relies greatly on individuals and foundations who value the impact and importance of art in their society.

Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 towards a new creation and reaching new audiences. Every donation helps The Chimera Project continue to make waves on the national dance front and every donation is greatly appreciated!
